Friday 7th July 2006 marked the official signing of the Professional Development Program between Hunter Water Australia and Engineers Australia. Hunter Water Australia has joined with Engineers Australia in an endeavour to develop the competencies of young engineers as they progress towards chartered status and professional recognition. Eleven graduate employees from the Process and Operations and Engineering divisions of Hunter Water Australia will now participate in the program.
General Manager of Hunter Water Australia, Jim Keary and National President of Engineers Australia, Peter Cockbain signed the official documents to commence this positive joint partnership. Chris Davis CEO of the Australian Water Association entertained employees and guests with his informative presentation on Australian water availability, consumption, governance, initiatives and major issues. The afternoon concluded (in typical engineering style) with some casual drinks.
